Leveraging more than a decade’s experience as a journalist, features writer, and editor, I offer a range of writing services, including news articles, features, marketing materials, blog posts, press releases, and more. Whatever your story is, I can help make sure it’s told through exciting and compelling copy that engages with readers.

Public Relations

Utilising market-leading tools I can help get your story in the hands of the right journalists and influencers, whether that’s just one or hundreds, and then track coverage giving you deliverable results. Having worked in busy newsrooms I’ve developed a “nose” for a good news story. I can help find the right angles in your brand message to secure those all-important column inches and further your commercial goal.

Custom publishing

I work with publishing companies and businesses to create custom publications, from newsletters to high-end glossy 100-plus page magazines. I manage the process from conceptualization through to the product hitting the press, including creating engaging content, commissioning, editing, pagination, and art direction. With more than six years editing experience, including as a magazine and national newspaper editor no project is too big, or too small.

I graduated with a BA (hons) in Journalism from the University of Sheffield, U.K, and have worked for more than 15 years as a features writer, editor, journalist, and public relations specialist.

While I trained as a journalist I started my career in public relations, working as a press officer for a large U.K. based corporation before heading agency side, working for one of the world’s leading marketing agencies.

In 2005 an opportunity came my way to relocate to the Cayman Islands. The lure of swapping city life for endless summer days and white sandy beaches was too good an offer to turn down. I switched gears and headed back to my roots, working as a general news reporter for the Cayman Islands’ leading daily newspaper.

I cut my teeth on the newsroom floor, covering a wide range of beats before finding my passion, lifestyle. Over the years I worked my way up through the ranks, from general news reporter to lifestyle reporter, features writer, supplements editor, and then magazine editor. During my tenure as a magazine editor I oversaw a dramatic re-design of an existing publication, turning it into one of the Cayman Islands’ leading high-end magazines.

In 2016 I was poached by a rival newspaper, then operating as a twice-weekly newspaper, to head up the team as managing editor. I switched the struggling paper from a broadsheet to a tabloid, filling a gap in the market. As the paper was free I also implemented an island-wide road-side distribution, which more than doubled distribution figures.

In 2018 I was approached by a new Cayman-based publishing company, Pink Duck Publishing, to head up their team as editor-in-chief and develop a trio of high-end luxury publications, a position that I currently hold.

Over the course of my career I have offered my services as a freelance writer, editor, and PR strategist to select businesses and publishing companies which don’t represent a conflict of interest to my current position. I currently split my time between the Cayman Islands and the U.K.
